Any Congas? yes currently working on one uber phattie lock.
Dread size - Varying from medium to small
Favorite Thing about having locks - the uniqueness. Being able to decorate and express your self at a glance. Also answering questions about peoples (usually gross) misconceptions about locks. The way they make me feel is almost unexplainable in the way they make me happy. People often ask me if my hair is even real. That tells me i doing something right! ;)
Least Favorite Thing about having Locks - Not being able to brush my hair, but DHHQ's head honcho really makes it easier to deal. :D
Anti-Wax? - No way, i know that the problematic ideas associated with waxing were caused from overwaxing, a critical error, and easier to do than youd first think (i overwaxxed a dread once. . .). but once you catch the learning curve, wax can be your most powerful tool, when used properly, of course.
Dread Aspirations - Have them at least two years, cut them all to the same length, dread zazta them out, and re-put them back in. Thats my goal. beautiful even lengthed locks.
Type of dreads - "Forced" method. I sectioned them out roughly 1x1 inch sections (some were bigger, some were smaller, as i wanted some variety) Applied rubberbands at the roots, and used a fine toothed metal comb to meticulously back comb them into submission. it took about 13 hours start to finish, and had some poofy palm frawns to show for and really RREALLY sore elbows from all the back combing and palm rolling. I used products exclusively from www.dreadheadhq.com including the loose hair tool, Dread Soap (which is AMAZING), Peppa for the scragglies im rounding up to deposit inside the dread via the tool, locking accelerator, the heavenly scented wax for aiding the exterior matting (and I always feel good about the hemp seed oil bonus of the wax) and equally deliciously mouthwatering butta to moisturize and cut the wax feel. you have to smell it yourself to understand the appeal. MMMmmmmmmmm!!
Why I dreaded to begin with - my hair was long, but more big. I didnt want big hair, I wanted long hair. it was course, full, thick and curley. it wanted to dread! I rode a 2006 HD 1200 Roadster and everytime I took a ride, I had to fight tangles like whoa. However, i was married at the time, and she (my ex) forbade me from having them. After the split, dreading my hair was the first thing I did. Now i have a wonderful new woman (my sweetest rose) that LOVES my hair, and me for who i am, for that matter. Never been happier! anyway, thats enough mushy stuff....
Favorite Products - Dreadhead's Dead soap, and their loose hair tool. these two things are indispensable.
3 Favorite Bands (not really dread related)- Tool, Nine Inch Nails, and Shpongle
I'm going to make a video soon explaining in depth, the why's, how's and what-have-you's, of my locking journey, and how I maintain them. Stay Tuned!!!
